Many years ago while working at Barnes and Nobles I found a bunch of books in the technology section about Taligent. Became fascinated with what the project was trying to do and the things they were achieving. I recently bought those books online and wanted to do a little post about them.
Commentary on how humanities has become less about how to think but about what is okay to think. All humanities degrees should require classes in logic. Things in liberal arts has mostly gone off the rails. Just some general commentary about my experiences as a CompSci person having to take/deal with humanities courses and people.
I upgraded the pickups in my Kiesel Vader V6. Originally it had the stock Lithium pickups. I switched them out for a set of Dimarzio Evolution pickups. They are a set of the bridge and neck six string pickups. These are the same as the ones on my Jem, but with out the single coil. I was told by a tech from Kiesel said the Lithiums had the same wire polarity as Dimarzio. When I hooked them up that way, the output power was really low. I search around for what the actual wire colors online for Kiesel pickups and found details for Carvin’s wiring, which had the same colors as the Lithiums. Compared those to the Dimarzio colors. They were different. After I wired them up based on that, the power was back to what I expect from Dimarzio. They sound great now.

I’m currently using the Massdrop CTRL keyboard with Halo True switches. I installed the Massdrop x MiTo XDA Canvas Custom keycap set with the wolfgang alphas. The keyboard is great and once you figure out how to program the firmware and flash it, there are a bunch of options and RGB LED settings you can use. I don’t usually care about the LED thing, but I did put in a couple of patterns that pulse red like KITT from Knightrider. I don’t use double-shot keycaps that would allow the back-light to shine through, so I don’t usually bother with that.

Just updated things to a new look. I’m using the Hugo web site building framework. The template is custom. I like it looking like a terminal. Also it looks good in elinks. I realize most people don’t use a console based browser, but I like the idea. If you can be readable on a console then I figure its effective at presenting content. I don’t plan on putting a log of visual content on here when there are better free platforms for that. Static, fast and all content.
